Executive & Corporate Coaching

Executives

The neuro-scientific brain-based approach to coaching used at CREST, is a proven model that affects sustained desired change.  Through Executive and Leadership Performance Coaching we strive to help executives bring their strategic vision alive through creating a highly functional organisational system.

We not only assist leaders to improve communication and leadership skills, work through dilemmas, encourage innovation, clarify the strategic direction and manage stress, but we also act as an objective sounding board and offer an empathetic relationship, allowing the executive to express freely.

Offering tactfully but brutally honest detached advice and feedback, we aim at annihilating areas of mediocrity, leveraging the executive’s innate strengths and talents to achieve excellence.

CREST Coaches can, as part of a portfolio of leadership development tools, use coaching to help align personal goals and values with that of the organization, and keep track of changes through periodic measurements.

What is Executive  & Corporate Coaching

Executive Coaching is the most personal form of professional development, providing sustained outcomes with regards to skills development, leadership abilities and general well-being.  Its a one-to-one informal time and cost effective learning-by-doing development tool that improves personal effectiveness, emotional intelligence, motivation, morale and responsibility.

The focus of Executive Coaching is to transform the quality of the leader’s work and his personal life - from line management to senior executive.  In focusing on the leader’s work life, issues such as leadership and skills development, executive strategic planning, problem solving and building top performing teams are addressed, whereas the personal side oftentimes revolve around interpersonal development, personal change and transformation.

Applications of Executive & Corporate Coaching

In South Africa, organizations are beginning to feel the effects of skills shortages.  This led to the implementation of training, education, and also coaching to develop employees.  Coaching is a very effective tool to enhance performance and has become a primary development and transformational modality since 2002.  Today, Executive Coaching is increasingly forming a powerful part of a corporate solution for strategy maintenance and enhanced performance.

Many executives are in the gripe of turbulent stress, face enormous demands and oftentimes risk derailment because of interpersonal relationship problems, failure of business objectives, incapacity to generate and sustain high-performing teams and have an inability to adapt and adopt to transitional change.

We have found that executives often have very few opportunities for continued development, of which personal development regularly rank last.  Senior executives are frequently isolated from feedback and experience the top echelon as a lonely place.

More an approach for large organizations, Executive Coaching can :
  • develop essential skills, attitudes and behaviours to improve work performance;
  • increase current performance and effectiveness through developing executive competencies;
  • develop competencies and clarify expectations for future career enhancement; and
  • help the executive strive towards realizing his larger work and/or personal agenda.

Organisations that invest in coaching for its employees are typically organizations that :
  • promote accountability;
  • are willing to invest in its employees to, amongst others, assist them during processes of change management, mergers and/or down-sizing to work through the uncertainties of change;
  • are committed to staff development to help under-performers increase their effectiveness, help achievers get to the next level and assist individuals to improve their leadership skills;
  • value well-balanced staff, therefore allowing employees to gain a greater work-life balance; and
  • want its teams to achieve their goals.

Benefits of Executive & Corporate Coaching

Executive Coaching assists managers and leaders to expand thinking, enhance potential, develop skills and change behaviour in order to create highly efficient individuals and teams.  On an individual level, an executive can benefit in respect of :
  • Interpersonal Competencies;
  • Skills Development; and
  • Organisational Capabilities.
Through the process of Coaching, it can be expected for :
  • positive change to occur through changed thinking;
  • people to achieve more than they realized they could;
